8th Grade Homeschool Curriculum

We have recently completed our first year of homeschooling.  It went so well that Drew and I have decided to keep going with it.  Travis' 8th grade books have arrived!  I know this looks like a lot, but we went though just as much, if not more, material with ease, last year.  I have 40 weeks (191 days!) of  math, science, history, vocabulary, spelling, writing, literature, grammar, music, and art assignments laid out.  It feels great to have this done already.  Last year, it was a last minute decision and I didn't even order curriculum until the end of August.  I now feel like I can relax and enjoy summer! :)

We are staying with the same curriculum for math and history, making changes in science and English, as well as adding in the art and music.  I am pretty excited about doing nature study and Travis' writing assignments will actually turn into a magazine at the end of the year.

Math - Saxon 1/2 Algebra
Science - Nature Study
History - A History of U.S.
English - Cover Story (Writing, Literature, and Grammar)
Cartoon Vocabulary II (Vocabulary and Spelling)
